The 13 Principles Of Witchcraft

The following set of thirteen principles was
adopted by the Council of American Witches, in April, 1974.

1: We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces marked by the phases of the Moon and the seasonal Quarters and Cross Quarters.

2: We recognize that our intelligence gives us a unique responsibility toward our environment. We seek to live in harmony with Nature, in ecological balance offering fulfillment and consciousness within an evolutionary concept.

3: We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than that apparent to the average person.Because it is far greater than ordinary it is sometimes called supernatural, but we see it as lying within that which is naturally potential to all.

4: We conceive of the Creative Power in the universe as manifesting through polarity ~ as masculine and feminine~ and that this same Creative Power lies in all people, and functions through the interaction of the masculine and feminine. We value neither above the other, knowing each to be supportive to each other.    We value sex as pleasure, as the symbol and embodiment of life, and as one of the sources of energies used in magickal practice and religious worship.

5: We recognize both outer worlds and inner, or psychological, worlds sometimes known as the Spiritual World, the Collective Unconscious, Inner Planes, etc. ~    and we see in the interaction of these two dimensions the basis for paranormal phenomena and magickal exercises. We neglect neither dimension for the other, seeing both as necessary for our fulfillment.

6: We do not recognize any authoritarian hierarchy, but do honor those who teach, respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, and acknowledge those who have courageously given of themselves in leadership.

7: We see religion, magick, and wisdom in living as being united in the way one views the world and lives within it ~a world view and philosophy of life which we identify as Witchcraft~ The Wiccan Way.

8: Calling oneself “Witch” does not make a Witch, but neither does heredity itself, not the collecting of titles, degrees, and initiations. A Witch seeks to control the forces within her/himself that make life possible in order to live wisely and well without harm to others and in harmony with Nature.

9: We believe in the affirmation and fulfillment of life in a continuation of evolution and development of consciousness giving meaning to the Universe we know and our personal role within it.

10: Our only animosity towards Christianity, or towards any other religion or philosophy of life, is to the extent that its institutions have claimed to be “the only way”, and have sought to deny freedom to others and to surpress other ways of religious practice and belief.

11: As American {Or World-Wide!} Witches, we are not threatened by debates on the history of the Craft, the origins of various terms, the legitimacy of various aspects
of different traditions. We are concerned with our present and our future.

12: We do not accept the concept of absolute evil, nor do we worship any entity known as Satan or the Devil, as defined by the Christian tradition. We do not seek power through the sufferings of others, nor accept that personal benefit    can be derived only by denial to another.

13: We believe that we should seek within Nature that which is contributory to our health and well-being.

Witchy Witch

Myrtlelyn The Psychic Witch

I call myself Witch.
I am unique. Eclectic in my Practice.
I practice alone by choice. I use My Personal Energies along with the Natural Energies from Stones, Crystals, Herbs, Colors, The 4 Elements, Planets, Days Of The Week, whatever is needed at that time.

Magick is Natural. Neither Black or White, Not even gray.
It becomes Black, Negative or White Positve Or Gray -Neutral, by the way it is used.

The Magick I practice is a combination of many different types .
I like to call it Folk Magick, or Sympathy Magick.
I consider myself , A Natural Witch. My Religious Practices are more spiritual. My beliefs are my own. A mixture of different cultures and styles I am an Old School Witch. I started studying in 1970. I do not necessarily go along with Modern Day Witchcraft. For myself this has been my lifestyle since I was very young. This is the way I also raised my children. Honoring the Goddess / God. The Universe, Universal Spirit whatever or whomever you connect with. I practice as a way to make positive changes for myself , others ,the environment. I respect the Earth.I celebrate The Witch’s Circle , or The Wheel Of The Year. Some of these Celebrations are Similar to Christian Celebrations, or Holidays. I work Spell work and I stay within my Personal Guidelines- Harm No-one. I do not work negative or manipulative Magick. This will only come back to you and usually worse coming back than what you send out
If not this life time, it could be the next. Who needs that?

There are some Self Proclaimed Witches who believe in revenge and manipulation – They feel revenge is fine. I do not. I do believe in Protecting myself or Sending Negative Energy back to someone if they send it to me with intent.

I never claim 100% accuracy. I know there are some who do,
but I take issue with this, as No-One is ever 100% dead on. I am a Natural Witch, Not a Stage Witch. There are many , what I like to call Stage Witches. Dramatic, Flashy, and Highly Expensive.
This does not mean that their Magick is stronger. It means they know how to stage the effects to make it look more like Fantasy. I like to call these the Charmed Witches. A True Practitioner, is usually more straight forward. Low Key.
Some are very Ritual Oriented , some more like myself, Natural ,
some of us are Ceremonial, but a True Witch, is nothing like Charmed, Harry Potter or Disney. We are real, we do exist, we are just ordinary people who know how to tap into our Energy resources, and the resources Nature has provided.
This is not new it has been going on since the beginning of time. It is a game to some people. For others it is a great way to make a lot of money, and this has also gone on for Centuries. A reasonable service charge is acceptable , as there are expenses to the practitioner, but ,it is the Energies, the Knowledge, and the Sincerity that count. Most True Witches Are Naturally Powerful, And usually have strong Psychic Abilities.

I am a little different , A Unique individual. I am not dramatic. I am just an everyday person , just like you .
The difference is , I know how to tap into the Energies to make change happen.
I have done interviews on a local Radio station in Upstate New York( 1991) as well for a college paper.(1997)
My Spirituality is blended with nature. I feel we are responsible for our own actions. I believe in an afterlife, Karma, Reincarnation , Summerland. ( Heaven )
